Foils reflect light and are opaque. They are legible in most instances and should especially be used with a dark paper or print. Lighter foils that are similar in tone to the paper or print may be more difficult to read. If you are unsure about your selection please feel free to Contact Us.
Letterpress inks are matte and somewhat transparent. We do not suggest using a letterpress ink that is lighter than the paper or print. They will not stand out on a dark paper or print and can become murky. Contact Us with any questions about your selection.
Flat printing will yield a result very similarly to how it is represented on your screen. So, if you can’t see the text on your screen we would recommend choosing another color.
Edge painting is most visible when using 2-ply paper. All colors are matte, and while metallic colors have a slight shimmer, they are not shiny like foil.
Blind Emboss is when the paper is pressed out towards you, creating a 3D-like effect. No inks are applied, so legibility is subtle and relies on the shadows of the text.
